WIDE SLEEPER: GREATER STABILITY, REDUCED MAINTENANCE
With its large bearing area and a weight of approximately 600 kg, RAILONE’s wide sleeper reduces dynamic loads within the ballast bed and sustainably improves track stability. Its optimised load distribution extends tamping intervals and reduces maintenance requirements, even under demanding ground conditions.
More than 25 years of operational experience confirm the long-term performance of this solution.
WIDE SLEEPERREDUCED VIBRATION FOR MAXIMUM DURABILITY
A sleeper’s weight and bearing area play a key role in improving track stability and reducing maintenance requirements. RAILONE’s wide sleeper takes this concept to the next level.
The sleeper was developed with a width of almost 60 cm and a weight of nearly 600 kg. This ensures that traffic loads are distributed as efficiently as possible throughout the ballast bed without interruption across the sleeper bay.
More than 25 years of operational experience have clearly demonstrated the benefits of this approach, including extended tamping intervals, even on lines with particularly challenging ground conditions.
Simple installation using conventional track construction methods
Consistent quality and stability, preventing continuous changes in ballast support conditions
Up to 70% higher lateral track resistance and reduced settlement
Significantly increased track availability
High levels of safety thanks to the sleeper’s substantial mass and continuous bearing surface
Easy vegetation control and reduced cleaning requirements due to the closed track surface, eliminating the need for herbicides
Surface water and other liquids are directed away in a controlled manner
Significantly reduced ground-borne noise transmission into the subgrade due to the high sleeper mass
