High-Speed Rail Across 345 Kilometres: RHEDA 2000® for Taiwan’s Landmark Project

Since 2007, RHEDA 2000® has enabled speeds of up to 300 km/h on the 345 km Taiwan High Speed Rail line, supported by more than 125,000 bi-block sleepers and RAILONE’s comprehensive engineering expertise.

Taiwan High Speed Rail is one of the world’s most impressive infrastructure projects, connecting the capital Taipei in the north with the industrial city of Kaohsiung in the south. Since January 2007, high-speed trains have travelled along the 345-kilometre line at speeds of up to 300 km/h. The RHEDA 2000® system is used across a wide range of applications, including bridges, tunnels, earthworks and turnout areas.

To meet the demanding dynamic requirements, RAILONE implemented an innovative design. The concrete base slab was constructed without a trough and combined with modified bi-block sleepers featuring robust lattice girders. In particularly vibration-sensitive areas, the system was implemented as a mass-spring system to ensure maximum stability and ride comfort. Throughout the planning and construction phases, RAILONE experts supported the project with comprehensive engineering expertise and construction supervision.
