Faliro Bay Tram: Sustainable Modernisation of a Coastal Tram Line
RAILONE supplied RHEDA CITY GREEN for the 3.8 km tram line in Attica between 2019 and 2021 as part of the Faliro Bay Regeneration Project.
The renovation of the line forms part of the Faliro Bay Regeneration Project, which aims to promote nature, culture and sustainable mobility in the Attica region. The route runs near the Faliro Bay coastline and represents an important extension of the existing tram network. The tight schedule presented a particular challenge, as operations on the existing network had to be completely suspended during construction.
RAILONE supplied the RHEDA CITY GREEN system, which offers reduced noise emissions, low maintenance requirements and efficient installation. The selected solution uses precast sleepers to ensure essential track parameters, enabling rapid implementation and simplifying future maintenance. At the same time, the project contributes to improving public transport services and supporting the region’s sustainable development.
