Ballastless track systems are high-performance track solutions that are primarily used on high-speed rail lines and heavily trafficked routes. Such lines are often associated with high noise levels for nearby communities, which are typically reduced through the use of noise barriers. However, these can be expensive or impractical where space is limited.
The RAILONE Noise Absorber offers an effective alternative, particularly when combined with additional noise mitigation measures. It consists of precast concrete elements whose specially designed surface structure and porosity effectively absorb noise generated at the wheel–rail interface and can reduce the overall noise level of rail traffic by up to 3 dB.
The absorber elements can be installed across the entire track surface or in selected areas. Their self-weight provides sufficient stability, eliminating the need for additional fixation. This allows the system to be installed quickly and efficiently and removed just as easily when required.
